Portfolio 1 - Farmhouse Garden, Somerset This is a beautifully restored farmhouse with cottage in Somerset. The main farmhouse garden has been designed to provide more useable level areas of lawn, a large terrace for outdoor living and attractive water features. In addition, there is a satellite seating area to enjoy the views. I created a raised vegetable garden where there was a bank of heavy clay to the rear of the property. All materials used are in keeping with the buildings and the garden is designed to be wheelchair friendly. There was a large expanse of tarmac in front of the cottage which needed to be visually softened. I created a semi-circular terrace with blue, silver, grey and white planting.Images 8, 9 and 10 show the farmhouse garden before the project started and image 15 is of the cottage. |
